List a real San Jose street address for local SEO without putting your home on the public map or customer directions.
Register your EIN, file business tax returns, and receive IRS correspondence at a physical address that's not your living room.
Open business checking, merchant services, and credit card accounts — most underwriters reject PO Boxes but accept our CMRA suite format.
Santa Clara County, San Jose city licensing, Board of Equalization — use your Mailbox Plus address as your business location of record (subject to local rules).
The address on your LLC filing becomes permanent public record. Most home-based business owners don't realize this until their personal address shows up in a Google search of their LLC.
California's SOS-filed records are searchable online. Anyone — customers, competitors, collection agencies — can look up the address on your LLC filing.
Disgruntled customers, stalkers, and drop-by salespeople don't need to know where you sleep. A storefront address absorbs that traffic.
Clients and vendors see a real commercial address — not a residential street. It signals that your business has a real physical footprint.
We're authorized by USPS under DMM 508.1.8 as a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency. That federal designation is what makes our street address usable as a real business address instead of a rented PO Box. All CMRA operators must:
The Form 1583 signing is why Secretary of State and the IRS accept CMRA addresses — it's a verified identity + address record on file with USPS. Virtual-only mailbox services without a physical CMRA storefront don't qualify.
Mailbox Plus is a husband-and-wife-owned shop in East San Jose. Here's what business customers say.
"Super convenient — one-stop shop for my mailbox, shipping, and notary needs. Everyone goes out of their way to help. If you need a business (or personal) mailbox, definitely check them out."
"I needed a business address for my company while transitioning to SoCal. They were extremely helpful, met all my mail needs, and answered all my questions promptly."
"Not just a business of excellence — a family-run establishment. Reuben and his wife MJ made me feel like a new friend, not just a customer."
15 minutes at the counter. We're a Notary Public on-site, so Form 1583 gets signed same visit.
Yes — as your business street address, not your registered agent address. California's filing requires a physical street address where mail can be received; our USPS-approved CMRA suite format qualifies. (If you need a registered agent for service of process, that's a separate service — commercial agents are available from companies like Northwest or Harbor Compliance; we're happy to point you to reputable ones.)
Yes — any address on your Statement of Information becomes public record. That's actually the benefit: your Mailbox Plus address is what appears on the SOS website, county records, and Google searches of your LLC — not your home.
Generally yes, when the mailbox is used for business purposes (receiving business mail, packages, or as the address of record for the business). Like any tax matter, confirm with your CPA — we're not tax advisors. Keep our receipts; they show the business purpose clearly.
Our Small tier covers 2 recipient names, Medium covers 3, and Large covers 4+. A single box can hold your personal name plus your LLC name, or your LLC plus a DBA, or multiple business names — whatever fits within the recipient count. Add recipients anytime by letting us know at the counter.
No. We are a business mailing address, not a registered agent. A registered agent is a legal role — they accept service of process (lawsuit papers) on behalf of your business and must be available during standard business hours at a physical CA address. Many small business owners use a commercial registered agent service (around $125-200/year) in addition to a physical business address like ours.
Two IDs: one photo ID (driver's license, passport, state ID, or military ID) and one address-verifying document (utility bill, lease, vehicle registration, bank statement). If you're signing up as an LLC, bring your Articles of Organization. If you're a DBA, bring your filed DBA certificate. Federal USPS Form 1583 has to be signed in front of a notary — we're a Notary Public on-site, so this is all done at the counter.
USPS-approved CMRA from $25/mo. Accepted by the CA Secretary of State, IRS, Google Business Profile, and every delivery carrier.
